Like so many others, I grew up watching the Miami Dolphins, which I considered the "home team." Therefore I was proud to produce this video show for you (click the above). It's nearly impossible to enjoy the Miami Dolphins football team and not enjoy the brilliance of Coach Don Shula. Coach was known getting the most of every player and building teams that consistently performed, regardless of the level of talent he had to start with on a roster.
American football fans over 30 likely have fond memories of Coach Don Shula and his one-of-a kind career that spanned several decades and covered several generations of fans and players. Now that he has left us at the age of 90, Shula's enormous legacy and impact is being revisited and profiled at length. As the winningest coach in NFL history, The longtime head coach of the Miami Dolphins lead the team to two Super Bowls, including the only perfect season in NFL history in 1972. Coach Shula was previously the head coach of the Baltimore Colts, with whom he won the 1968 NFL Championship.
Don Shula was once a player too and was drafter to John Carroll University in the 1951 NFL Draft. Shula also played professionally as a defensive back for the Cleveland Browns, Baltimore Colts and Washington Redskins although coaching was his ultimate gift. In his 33-year career as a head coach in the NFL, he led his teams to six Super Bowl appearances. Coach Shula still holds the NFL record for most career wins as a head coach with 347 (328 in the regular season). Shula was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1997.
